October Ceremonial Divisions - Recap (25-OCT-07)

This month, we had our October Ceremonial Divisions (CDs). While being the first of our training year, it included a huge slate of new promotions, awards, and ceremonies. It was also the first CDs that many of our new cadets experienced in their cadet journey, so it was an exciting experience for many. So sit back, iron your uniform, and read this article.



Certifications/Badges - Many cadets received badges and certifications from summer training and recent corps activities.

Marksman (Level 1)

Cadets Carpenter and Kisten (pictured in the centre) got Level 1 Marksman certifications. They are seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left) and CPO2 Mehta (pictured right).


First Class Marksman (Level 2)

Cadets Cullen, Martin, and Ovenden got Level 2 Marksman certifications. They are seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left) and CPO2 Mehta (pictured right).


Expert Marksman (Level 3)

Cadets Jung, Offengenden, Paulitzki, and Ramirez got Level 3 Marksman. They are seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left) and CPO2 Mehta (pictured right).


Biathlon Pins

Cadets Chan, Janzen, Liu. A, and Paulitzki got Biatalon Pins for their participation in Biatolan. They are seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left) and CPO2 Mehta (pictured right).


Standard First Aid

Cadet Rojas got Standard First Aid Qualifications, along with the badge. She is seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left).


Communicator Level 1

Cadet Bandekar got Communicator Level 1 from Camp. He is seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left).


Cadet Fitness Level: Silver (Level 2)

Promotions - Many cadets received their due promotions as they progress in their cadet journey


To Able Cadets (AC)

ree

Cadets Ovenden, Gautam, Jayacody, Le. A, Le. J, Nguyen, Sabu Jose, and Suneesh got promoted from Ordinary Cadets to Able Cadets. This is one of the most important promotions a cadet experiences in their journey, as it shows that they are now ready to take on higher responsibilities as a cadet as they move up. The cadets are seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left) and Coxswain Rainville (pictured right).


To Leading Cadets (LC)

Cadets Ajeeth, Corbett-Litschgy, Essogo Kuombo, Garraway. M, Kar, Liu. G, Main. P, Martens, McCoy, Mozhiparambil Edwin, Murugaraj, Neve, Palacios. L, Palacios. S, Rajesh. R, Rajesh. Riy, Shylesh, and Velasquez Valencia got promoted to Leading Cadets. Need to take a breath? I wouldn't blame you; those were a lot of cadets, but it simply attests to the rapid growth of our corps and the great things to come out of it. The cadets are seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left) and Coxswain Rainville (pictured right).


To Master Cadets (MC)

Cadets Chan, Janzen, Paulitzki, Jung, Offengenden, Bandekar, Ajeeth, Frank, Main. T, Rouleau. D, and Rouleau. J got promoted to Master Cadets. This is one of the most important promotions a cadet can have in their journey, as it represents that they are one level away from becoming senior cadets and are ready to take up increasing leadership responsibilities within the corps. Special Shoutout!

Cadet Rouleau. J, will be ageing out of Cadets as a Master Cadet. Thank you for your work as a cadet, and we'll be sad to see you go :(. Cadet Rouleau. J (pictured right) is seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left).


To Petty Officer 2nd Class (PO2)

Cadet Palacios got promoted to Petty Officer 2nd Class. She is seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left) and Coxswain Rainville (pictured right).


To Petty Officer 1st Class

Cadets Guiterrez Rojas and Garraway. K got promoted to Petty Officer 1st Class. They are seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left) and Coxswain Rainville (pictured right).


To Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class (CPO2)

Cadets Brunet, Mehta, Miller, and Rainville-Shortell officially got promoted to Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class. The cadets are seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left) and Coxswain Rainville (pictured right).



Commanding Officer's Coin (CO's Coin) - A CO's Coin is given to cadets or staff by the Commanding Officer of a Corps (who in our corps is Lt(N) Knoop) or similar institution who outperforms their duties or shows attributes of excellence.


To Navy League Members

This month, recipients of the CO's Coin from the KW Navy League were President Melanie Knoop and Vice President & Treasurer, Ven-Astasia Quangvan. They are seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left).


Cadets

Chief of Supply Acharya. A and Stores Officer CV Knoop were the next recipients of the CO's Coin due to their tireless work in supply, getting uniforms out for new cadets. They are seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left).

Chief Miller was the next recipient of the CO's Coin, due to his work as Chief of Training. He is seen with Lt(N) Knoop (pictured left).
