High School
VOLUNTEER HOURS & CREDITS

Volunteer Hours
Cadets earn volunteer service hours towards your mandatory 40 hours required for your OSSD — making it easy to meet or exceed your graduation requirements while having fun and giving back to the community.

High School Co-op Opportunities
Cadets may also be eligible to earn high school co-op credits by participating in training activities, community service, and leadership roles. Ask your school guidance counsellor how to apply your cadet experience toward your diploma.
HElmets To Hardhats

Helmets to Hardhats Canada provides a direct pathway into unionized construction and skilled trades careers for members of the Canadian Armed Forces. Through the program, participants can access apprenticeship opportunities, industry-recognized training, and direct connections to employers across Canada.

For cadets, this highlights a clear future opportunity: those who choose to join the Canadian Armed Forces after cadets may later use Helmets to Hardhats to transition into a skilled trade career. The program values leadership, discipline, teamwork, and reliability—core skills developed through the Cadet Program—making it a strong long-term pathway for those interested in hands-on, technical careers.
