To the parents and cadets:

Another busy summer has almost passed and it’s time to start looking at the next training year.  I hope everybody enjoyed their summer.  For those cadets who went to summer camp, I know you have just had an experience that will provide you with memories that will stay with you for life.  You have made some new friends from across the province and maybe a few from across the country.  For those cadets who didn’t have an opportunity to attend summer camp this year, plan to get your applications in early in the new year so that you get to enjoy the cadet camp experience.

I’m sure some of the parents missed having your children around for the first part of the summer, but I also hope you enjoyed the peace and quiet around the house because they were at camp.  At least you didn’t have all that hectic running around taking them to Tuesday nights, band practice, guard practice and any other number of activities that they are usually involved in.

Sep 12th is the first training night for the upcoming year.  It will be at our new building 315 Breithaupt St. in Kitchener.  It is literally around the corner from the old ship.  All cadets are expected to attend. The CO has asked me to mention that this night will be in civvies but if anybody has uniform issues they should bring them on the 12th to have them taken care of.  The cadets will be having a short meeting with the officers followed by a BBQ.  While the cadets are at their meeting we would like to have a quick get together with the parents to hand out some information and to update you on the year ahead.

Finally, renovations on the new building are not far enough along for us to parade in the new ship.  So for the 1st half of this training year we will be parading out of Sunnyside Public School, 1042 Weber St E, Kitchener.  Meetings are from 6:30pm to 9:30pm every Tuesday night.  We will keep everybody up to date on the status of the new ship as details become available.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
